OBRA Members:
We all know that sponsorships are what help to keep organizations like OBRA going.
They provide the money to buy awards that we all like to win at the end of the year.
However, there is a tendency to forget the impact these sponsors have.
Let’s imagine that for one year OBRA was unable to get any sponsors. We want
saddles that cost 750.00 each (as an example) for our year end awards. We get 1
saddle for the winner in each of the 4 divisions as well as for Open, 2500, and 1000.
Using time only’s @ 5.00 per run to pay for them we are going to need 1,750 runs. If
you are going to award the other competitors in other placings, you do the math.
So how do we attract and keep our sponsor? A new program that is now available to
our present and potential sponsors is our “Incentive Program”. This program rewards
our sponsors with year round dividends.
A. The incentive for these business owners is that OBRA members and their
families will make more of an effort to shop and support these sponsors.
B. The incentive for OBRA members is when an OBRA member or their family
makes a purchase at an incentive sponsor’s place of business; the OBRA member will
keep that receipt, put their name on it, and mail them to Mary Rainwater at the address
below or hand deliver to her at a barrel race. Those receipts will then be put into a pot
for a random drawing. When an OBRA member’s receipt is pulled from this pot they will
in turn receive a prize or discount on their entry fees and or memberships, etc. The
chances are increased by the number of receipts turned by a member.
C. Incentive program sponsors will be listed on the web and updated on a
regular basis so please check it prior to making a purchase at your favorite business.
All receipts turned in must be dated after the sponsor came on board with the OBRA
incentive program. This date will be listed next to the sponsor's name. Receipts dated
prior to this date will not be permitted.
All members of OBRA will have the same opportunity to be involved in this. If you have
any questions, please feel free to contact one of the board members.
